Pivoted arm bandsaw for cut-out work - has worktable inclinable to produce part cut through work with bottom of cut parallel to table surface

The sawband (8) is carried in an arm (6) which pivots about an axis (9) parallel to the work supporting surface (14) of the worktable (10). The worktable can be tilted about an axis (13), which is parallel to the axis (9) of the pivoted bandsaw arm and can be clamped in position. A self-sustaining screw and handwheel arrangement tilts the table and the angle of inclination is indicated on a scale (21,22). For cut-out work the table is set to give a straight line cut parallel to the table top at the desired end-of-cut distance X from the base of the workpiece (1). A stop and microswitch (23,24) are used to terminate the cutting cycle. The workpiece and machine are then re-set fro the second cut. ADVANTAGE - Inexpensive machine can be used for cut-out work. Easy to use. Can be retrofitted.
