Process for degreasing and cleaning of goods with solvents, whereby the solvents are evapd., the solvent vapours are passed over the goods and are condensed there due to the temp. difference between vapour and goods. Before temp. equalisation between solvent vapour and goods, the pressure and temp. of liq. solvent are raised to the b.pt. at the higher solvent pressure and the higher temp. solvent vapour produced is condensed on the goods due to the restored temp. differential. This process is repeated as often as required to obtain satisfactory cleaning. The pressure and temp. of liq. solvent is raised continuously. Alternatively, the liq. solvent pressure and corresp. boiling temp. is sub-atmospheric and increased in stages or continuously. Treatment is terminated automatically when the max. permissible goods temp. is reached. Residual condensed solvent is evapd. after termination of the cleaning process. Solvent is cleaned by continuous distn. USE/ADVANTAGE - An improved solvent degreasing and cleaning process and equipment, allowing continuous multi-stage treatment without interruption.
