The appts. regulates a fluid supply installation having several supplying pumps (1) driven by electric motors and operated in series or in parallel. A sensor (6) detects the quantity regulated. Each electric motor (2) has a frequency converter (4) for controlling the RPM and there is a superimposed or zoning regulator (9) for controlling the combined operation of the pumps and motors. Each frequency regulator has a motor regulator (5) which receives the signal from the sensor directly and the zoning regulator is connected with all the motor regulators over a digital communications line (8), controlling the selection of a motor regulator as a pilot regulator for taking over the fast regulation and of the frequency setting signals for the converters of the other pumps by bridging over their motor regulators. ADVANTAGE - Improvement in speed of regulation and uniform loading of motor-pumps.
