A digital electron circuit is used for the multiplication and division of two numbers (X1, X2) coded in 5211 weighted code. The inputs are received by bidirectional shift registers (1, 2) that have outputs connected to adder circuitry (3) coupled to a gating circuit (4). The outputs are received by a bidirectional register (5). The multiplication and division process is controlled by a circuit that provides the control inputs for operation of the shift registers.
