The compsns. (I) comprise (A) 10-90 pts. (all pts. wt.) polyarylene sulphide (II); (B) 90-10 pts. crosslinked duroplastic epoxy-isocyanurate resin (III), and opt. (C) up to 80% fillers and reinforcing agents. Prepn. of (I) comprises (i) mixing (B) as powder with melted (A); or (ii) mixing uncrosslinked prepolymer (IV) or (III) as (B) with solid (A) then melting (A) with shearing; or (iii) mixing (IV) as (B) in melted (A) with shearing. USE/ADVANTAGE - Prepn. of shaped articles (claimed), e.g., in motor vehicle industry for components under the bonnet or reflectors for halogen lamps; in electrical industry for highly thermally stressed switches; and in construction of valves and pumps.
