The modulation interference, caused by noise components in the heating circuit of a travelling wave tube (WR), are dealt with by a compensator. In the tube heating circuit a sensor (SW) is incorporated for picking up the noise components of the heating current. The cathode tube feed contains an element (R1), via which a signal derived from the sensor is feedable in a decoupled manner in correct amplitude and phase so that the interference is compensated. Pref., the sensor is formed by a current transformer, whose primary winding (W1) is switched into the heating circuit, while its secondary (W2) is coupled to the terminals of the element in cathode feed. A capacitor (C1) is present in at least one of these connections. USE/ADVANTAGE - Satellite travelling wave tube amplifier.
