An X-ray diagnostic apparatus with position adjustable equipment (1 to 9) has a controller (19) and an input/display combination (10 to 13) comprising an operating module (10) and display panel (11) whose field (13) is made up of a number of symbols (14) related to the disposition of the equipment (1 to 9). The module (10) has a keyboard field (12) which matches the display field (13) and which is equipped with dual contact keys/touch-pads (17). A first depression of the keys (17) illuminates a cursor (16) on the display field (13) and a further depression initiates movement of the relevant equipment (1 to 9). USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides operator with simple means of adjusting all equipment by keyboard adjacent to patient with confirmation of command by display adjacent to monitors. Operator can continue to observe monitors during movements since command display is on same line-of-sight.
