Controlling subscriber terminals to establish connection - using central control for conversion of pulse into message for answering machine when calling subscriber hangs up

The subscriber terminals of a communication system (KS), particularly answering machines, are controlled for establishing connection between a calling subscriber and the answering machine (A), which contains a memory with a spoken text. On the calling subscriber replacement, a central control (DP) converts the replacement pulse into a message for interrupting the voltage supplied (SP) to a subscriber circuit (SLMA) to interrupt the answering machine for a defined time period. Pref. a partial control (IOP) converts the control message into corresp. control pulses for the voltage supply. USE/ADVANTAGE - PBX systems, conference systems etc., with facility for providing answering machine readiness after calling subscriber's hang up.
