Manufacture of multiple ignition coil units - producing common housing with inset power rail receiving preassembled coil units

The mfg. method assembles multiple ignition coil units that have coil units each consisting of a primary and secondary winding located within a common housing of plastic. Connecting bolts (3) and a power rail (1) are built into the housing and are electrically coupled. Pre-assembled winding stages (6) are then inserted into the housing. The power rail is coated with plastic to provide insulation between the rail and the surrounding body (8) which is formed by synthetic resin in a final operation. ADVANTAGE - Reduced mfg. cost with fewer process stages.
