The electronic road atlas has a housing with a top surface display panel (2). Modules may be plugged into sockets (4) and each module contains road map data for a specific region. A specific area of the displayed map may be located using one two-position switch (6) for east to west selection and a second switch (7) for north to south. Once a location is identified, greater detail may be obtained using a zoom selector (5). The unit is battery (3) powered. USE/ADVANTAGE - Also for storing sea charts, astronomical charts etc. Modular system improves location of information.
