For the slaughter of poultry, the veterinary examination zone together with water supply and outlet and filters are in fixed locations at the poultry farm. Slaughter and prepn. zones, pref. with the waste containers and part of the cooling plant are contained in a mobile slaughter unit which can be moved by road. Mobile unit is brought to the poultry farm to be connected to the water supply and water waste outlet, and to power supplies, for the poultry to be slaughtered on site. ADVANTAGE - The operation gives a slaughtering facility for small poultry farms, which can be used on site, meeting legal requirements for hygiene and safety.
