Hip region pelvic joint prosthesis - has through bores in metal outer shell and coacting intermediate member for anchoring

The endoprosthesis comprises a cup with a metal outer shell and anchorages to the pubic and hip bones. The outer shell (4) has holes through it so that adaptors (20,21) can be fixed through selected holes to the shell (4) and at the other end connected to the anchorages (30,40). The hip bone anchorage contains a conical pin which fits into a corresponding hole (24) in the adaptor (20). Cup (2) is fixed by a screw (16) passed through the shell (4) and adaptor so as to anchor in a tapped hole (35) in the pin (33). USE/ADVANTAGE - Artificial pelvic joint, hip area. Cup can be positioned to suit resection planes and patient dimensions at implant stage.
