Washing equipment for reusable bottles - has vertically moving needles to spray pressurised water against surfaces of inverted polyethylene terephthalate bottles

Reusable containers, and bottles in partic. such as polyethylene-terephthalate reflux flasks, are washed out by means of a high pressure jet system. The bottles are inverted, the spraying device is inserted, and is moved longitudinally relative to the bottles; during the movement the interior of the bottles is sprayed under high pressure. ADVANTAGE - Efficient and removes even obstinate dirt. In an example, a succession of 1.5 1 polyethylene-terephthalate bottles are moved in an inverted state through the equipment where a corresponding number of jet needles (3) have end nozzles (6) for high pressure sprays. The mounting (4) for the needles is moved up and down (7) on guides (9), and water at about 20 deg.C is fed into the needles at high pressure. The machine is arranged so that when bottles (1) are aligned over the needles (3) the latter (3) are moved up into the bottles and the water is forced at 100-200 bar pressure against the surfaces of the bottles. The pressure rotates the spray nozzles (6). The washing cycle lasts e.g. 10 secs. and the washing water flows down out of the bottles.
