The marking system uses a pair of marking devices (K1, K2) lying next to one another. Each marking device comprises an oscillation system with at least one spray jet and a paint catchment dish (14, 15), a feed pump (F) and a paint return pump (R). A cleaning fluid reservoir (20) is coupled to the feed pump (F) and a soiled paint container (21) is coupled to the return pump (R). The connections to the paint containers (18, 19) or the cleaning fluid reservoir and the soiled paint container are controlled via valves (V1, V12), to allow cleaning before switching between paint colours.
