The radiator heating surface (7) and the additional heating surface (8) are a heat exchanger system. It is switched or control operated dependant on the boiler, namely the start up operation, normal operation and operation with lower exhaust temperature. The system is operated in nature or forced rotation. The switching is controlled dependant on the temperature of the exhaust gas in front and behind the additional heating surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - Operates with higher effectiveness for a fresh air-flue gas system of a steam boiler.
