The fuel injection pump has pump pistons, driven by cam shafts, and with a collar having opposed flat sections. The lower part of each pump cylinder has a regulating sleeve, connected to a control rod. The projecting section of the sleeve has depressions, which act with side ends of the flat sections of the collar. The collar (5) of the pump piston (3) has a pocket bore in at least one of the flat sections (6). The bore contains a longitudinally movable pressure body, which engages with via a spring-load on a driver surface of the depression (10). ADVANTAGE - Reduced wear on regulating sleeve.
