Transport carriage for beams - has lifting cradle which can be rotated to allow manoeuvring in confined spaces

A transport carriage for rolls consisting of a centre tube (8) and flanges (6), esp. empty weaver's beams, has a guide wheel (14) or a steerable chassis (10) and a lifting mechanism (16, 20) which can raise a cradle (24). At least in the raised position the cradle can be rotated about a vertical axis and it can be locked to stop it rotating. The carriage can have two fixed wheels (12) and pref. two steerable wheels (14). The cradle (24) is pref. near the fixed wheels. The lifting mechanism can have a swing arm (20) raised by a hydraulic cylinder (16) driven by a hand or foot operated pump (40). USE/ADVANTAGE - As a handling trolley which facilitates manoeuvering heavy beams in a confined space.
