The drive system has a hydrostatic variable displacement pump, and a consumer of hydraulic energy, connected to it via a path valve. A demand flow regulator determines the pump capacity. It is connected to a load signal line, for a load signal, which is derived from the load pressure of the consumer. The load signal line (21) may be blocked, when the consumer is connected. It contains a shut-off valve, which is switchable dependent upon a random switching signal. When the valve is in switching position, the load signal line is blocked. The valve is additionally charged by a pressure signal, which is derived by the pressure in the cylinder (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - Earth moving machinery drive system with hydraulic sensing of load.
