In the assembly hot and cooler smoke come together in a mixer which atomises droplets. The mixer is located in the outlet of the hot smoke pipe such that the mixer and its components do not project into the droplet-laden smoke flow. The mixer is recessed in the inlet part of a smoke duct wall and the inlet is covered by a piece of perforated sheet metal. USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly mixes hot smoke with cooler smoke containing droplets using less energy than previous mixers, and prevents the formation of a droplet agglomeration or the formation of solid residues. Suitable for use in power station desulphurisation plant.
