A pyrometer, esp. a high speed pyrometer, is used to check the temp. rise at a heated switch contact carrier to check the contact quality, or the temp. ratio and/or particle deposition rate when thermal spraying of particles in a heated medium, or to register the reflected radiation from coated optical components. A pyrometer is also used to determine the voltages at components on a circuit board through their temp. comparisons and temp. loss, and the friction heat generated by drawn metal wires when they are worked into a material. ADVANTAGE - The high speed pyrometer gives a rapid and absolute temp. measurement within a wide temp. range, for industrial applications.
