A distn. appts. for spirits prodn. includes a mash-holding heated still, above which is located a concentrator with one or more boiler plates having one or more passage openings, each being covered by a deflector which directs the rising vapour through the condensate on each boiler plate. The novelty is that (i) several holes, acting as passage openings, are distributed over the boiler plates; and (ii) the deflector is formed by several flat cover sheets with edges spaced by only a few mm from the boiler plates. ADVANTAGE - The design provides improved exchange between the rising vapour and the condensate on the boiler plates.
