A cash transaction system allows bank cheques to be exchanged in an automatic machine. The cheque is inserted into a checking unit that reads the information, validates the data and stores it. A second stage accepts a bank cheque guarantee card and the data obtained is used together with a keyboard entered personal identification number as part of a secure validation process. Once identified the required amount is dispensed in banknote form. The unit also allows banknotes to be exchanged for coins. ADVANTAGE - Provides added security.
