At least one of the table top panels (21, 22) has at least one end groove (24) and at least one other parallel groove (24) at right angles to which is another groove (28) to take connections (34, 35) joining the table components. The grooves have pref. rectangular, or dovetailed, or trapezoidal cross-sections. The connections have at least one support consisting of a triangular support arm, at right angles to one edge of which is a holder rail.
