Device has a filter body (1) with a region which is defined by a baffle (6) and which is supplied with a hot gas stream (5) from a gas source (4). The stream (5) is movable relative to the filter body (1). The baffle (6) has one or more openings (9) connecting an exhaust space (7), fed with exhaust gas (3) to a regeneration space (8), fed with the hot gas (5). ADVANTAGE - The design avoids destruction of the filter body by temp. fluctuations and thus increases filter service life.
