The sheet rotary printing machine can be adjusted to printing on first side only or on both sides with the sheet turned in accordance with the sheet rear edge turning principle. Two correlative sheet holding systems which work together are provided, which are arranged on driven pivot shafts coupled by means of tooth segments. The pivot shafts (5,6) are arranged fixed by means of at least two axially space gearwheel pairs (7) which are displaced in the radial plane, with a connected toothing area via a synchronisation area. A pivot system control gear (22-24,25) fitted to a gripper pivot shaft (6) is arranged on both sides on the sheet guide cylinder (1). USE - A drive for the pivot system in sheet guide cylinders of sheet rotary printing machine.
