The inner arm part (3) has a release device (4). The outer arm part (4) is pivotable out of a normal position so that the link (5) joining the two arm parts moves in a rearward direction. The pivot angle of the outer arm part amounts to 30 deg. The release device (4) comprises a permanent magnet, which is arranged in the inner arm part (3) and retains the outer arm part (2). It also consists of a screw spring one end of which is fixed to the inner arm part and the other end to the outer arm part. The outer arm part can be fixed on the inner arm part with the aid of an adjustment screw (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - A bicycle pedal crank arrangement which enhances the force applied to the pedals.
