The sealing element in the fitted end state between the sealing surfaces maintains the peripheral contour which it had in the unfitted state. It is formed as a foil and is made of PTFE of PFTE modifications. The sealing element has a foil thickness in the range of 0.15 mm and has a flatness the max. deviations from which are less than half the foil thickness. The sealing surface have max. surface roughness rigidity which is less than half the foil thickness. The sealing surfaces are constructed with a segment-wise structure and where they are joined by the sealing are correspondingly complementarily structured. USE/ADVANTAGE - The sealing element can be employed under conditions of high pressure and temp. or temp. difference.
