The method involves the transmission of two evoking frequencies by air sound to the respective ear to be tested of the subject. The transmission can also be achieved by body sound to the respective ear, or by the intermittent transmission of the two evoking frequencies in bursts. The system for carrying out the method uses a single converting system with a tube (1) and microphone for the production of the evoking frequencies, and also for the reception of the differential frequency. Alternatively two converter systems (4', 4'') can be used. Three separate converter systems can also be used. ADVANTAGE - Existing methods are used only clinically, can be used in general practice also by auxiliary staff.
