Reduced stress welded frames for vehicle doors and windows - has shaped ends on vertical struts to fit horizontal frames on weld seams

The vertical struts (1) have their end cut and shaped to fit over the contour of the horizontal struts (2). The vertical ends are widened in the plane of the window to form curves (4) for an angled join to the horizontal struts, and to form the window corners. The joins are seam welded. The cut-outs are via laser cutting and take account of mounting lips for the window panes. The curved ends apply only in the window plane, leaving the outsides of the frame smooth. USE/ADVANTAGE - Windows for buses, trains, trucks etc. Reduction of stress and welds, minimum of post weld finishing required.
