The communications cable is formed from several strands connected to each other by webs, the strands being used as independent cables. One strand (1) contains a coaxial cable. Another strand (2) contains copper conductors, and another strand (3) contains optic fibres (5). The copper conductors may be twisted wires or a coaxial cable. The connecting links (7) between strands are of the same insulating material as the outer sheath (8) of each strand. Each strand has a traction relief element. The second strand has sector formed bundles with 50 copper pairs altogether for telephone transmission. The third strand contains 5 optical fibre bundles each with two optical fibres loosely arranged in a plastic sleeve. ADVANTAGE - Electrical and optical conductors integrated within one cable. Empty tubes can be incorporated in place of copper conductors, which can later have optical fibres pulled through.
