The device consists of an x-ray transmission exposure unit and a memory in which the resulting digitised image can be compared with a reference circuit board in the form of digitised microfilmed recordings. If there is a deviation a light signal is generated at the fault location on a screen by computer program. Only the inner structure of the component is important for triggering the light signal, not its exact position on the circuit board. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement enables easier fault on printed circuit boards with several mounted components.
