The rolled material runs through narrowed guide elements arranged on each cooling pipe end. The cooling pipes (1) are firmly installed and each pipe has varying guide elements corresp. to different rolled material dias. The guide elements are exchangeably fitted on the static cooling pipes and are arranged on a displacement device (3). Each guide element (2) has a conically narrowing formation evolving from the dia. of the corresp. cooling pipe (1) and forming into a narrowed guide hole. Connecting flanges are conically formed between a cooling pipe and a guide element. USE/ADVANTAGE - For the controlled cooling of wire, fine steel and concrete rib wire from rolling heat, using a series of cooling tubes inside a water box, with the rolled material automatically centred as it passes through the cooling system.
