The vehicle has an on-board radio receiver accepting information that is decoded to indicate the current speed restriction in operation. The data are compared with the measured speed of the vehicle, which is based upon the output of a tacho signal generator (TSG). When the actual speed exceeds the limit an acoustic warning is generated and a LED is activated. The receiver circuit has a frequency to voltage converter for the incoming signal and the voltage is compared (U1) with the voltage from the tacho signal generator. ADVANTAGE - Prevents accidents which are most often caused by excessive speed by so clearly signalling exceeded limit that override can only be implemented by willed decision of driver.
