A continuous sorting machine is used with a range of different coin sizes (12,18,20). Initially the coins are loaded into a cental drum (2) positioned over a turntable (1). The drum has a slot (4) at a specific point and all coins can pass into an outer region (7). Positioned around the turntable are a number of stations that each collect a certain size of coin. Rotary discs (8-10) have clamping elements (11) in the form of spring fingers set to grip the edge of the coin to cause transfer to collectors (14,16).
