Protected conveyor for workpiece liquid immersion cleaning - has chain links with pendulum hangers carrying tubular workpieces on transverse mandrel at level lower than conveyor working parts

The workpiece to be cleaned, esp. metal tubular parts or containers, are carried through the liq. immersion tanks (14,16,18,20) on an endless conveyor chain (54) with driving and guide sprockets (22-52). The conveyor chain and sprockets remain completely outside the liquid filled region (60-66) of the immersion tanks. The workpiece (104) is carried approx. horizontally on the mandrel (102) of a hanger (56) which is pivoted pendulum fashion on a shaft (92) extending transversely to the direction of travel from the connecting pin (90) of a chain link. ADVANTAGE - Chain and other working parts can be properly lubricated, resulting in reduced wear and longer equipment life.
