The rope or chain line is guided over guide pulleys or guide sprockets (15). The working line only is immersed in water, and at least one guide pulley or sprocket is coupled with the generator (11) across a driving shaft connected rotation proof to it. The empty endless chain (19) found above the water is supported by rollers (21) located at the side wall of the pontoon (10). One roller at least is designed as a chain adjusting roller. The lines can be arranged on both longitudinal sides of the pontoon. ADVANTAGE - Uses movement energy of water of larger rivers at nearly any location. Plants can be installed in larger numbers for generating larger amounts of electricity.
