The mast foot (2) has an integrated tensioning device (6), which has a long flexible member as power transmission element. The member is suspended by a looped hook (32) from an eye of the sail. The flexible member consists of a webbing strap (20). The tensioning device consists of a tension unit with winding drum and locking mechanism (64). One end (22) of the strap passes the hook, and is directly fastened to the mast foot. The tension unit consists of a conventional ratchet wheel (40), coupled to the drum, a tension lever (44), and a tension ratchet with locking mechanism. USE/ADVANTAGE - Mast foot for sailing surfboard with luff tensioning device which can be operated easier, needing less force.
