A tidal generator has the shape of a hollow truncated cone made of recycled plastic, anchored to the sea bed by a concrete base. Its height is at least the distance between high and low water level and it has a hexagonal cross section. Near the base at the low water level is an opening for the entry and egress of the tidal water. At the apex of the cone, above the high water level is a tube open to the atmosphere. There is a valve in this tube. Below the tube is a turbine or piston engine, driven by the flow of air through the cone as the tide rises and falls, so that electricity can be generated. ADVANTAGE - Maintenance-free and environmentally-friendly generation.
