Building component (I) made of fibre cement and a mixt. for its mfr. contains apart from cement, fibres, pref. cellulose fibres, e.g. wood pulp, as binder. The mixt. contains pulverised plastic. A process for mfr. of plastic powder, which is added to the above mixt. is also claimed. The pulverised plastic is pref. dry, has a high moisture content and is present in the form of a suspension; the plastic esp. comprises fine-grain particles of PAN, PVA, PP, PE or PA. The amt. of plastic powder in the mixt. is approx. 0.1-7% (pref. 2.5%). ADVANTAGE - (I) has improved strength
