The deflecting mirror (1) in the path of the laser beam can be tilted about an axis (3) at the bottom end of a bracket (2) along whose central axis (14) the entering laser beam (4) passes. The bracket (2) can swivel about the central axis (14). A manual joystick (6) mounted in a ball and socket bearing (17) controls rotation of the mirror about the two axes. Rotation about the tilting axis (3) is achieved by vertical movement of the joystick extension (5) to a rod (11) which in turn is connected to a lever arm (12) on the tilting axis shaft of the mirror. ADVANTAGE - Simple linkage allowing precise movement with high resistance to outside disturbances.
