The sealing organs or sealing belts (20,21) are heated by the transmission of non-contact power. The heating current for the heating of the organs or belts is produced inductively. The sealing belts (20,21) at least partly have electrically conducting material. A heating current is produced in the belts by an inductive coupling with an assigned coil (winding 36,37), though which current flows. Current conductors, esp. electrically conducting wires (34) are fitted in the sealing belts, esp. embedded in these. The surface of the packets (11) to be sealed, pref. lies in regions having an increased electrical resistance. ADVANTAGE - Heat energy is supplied in simplest possible way and manner. Heat supply is simply regulated and ensures exact carrying out welding operation of wrapping material.
