The surface under the pendulum (b) is equipped with semiconductor light receivers(c). A centring magnet (d) is fitted under the light receiver element (c). Direction and intensity of the light beam are used to determine the spatial vibration. The three tubes of the tripod (a), at their meeting point may be respectively fitted with magnets having fixed coils(e), and rest on springs (b) at the ground. USE/ADVANTAGE - Seismograph.
