The self service shelving unit for bread and rolls (1) has chutes the same width as the loaves/rolls, with rails on each side. The chutes slope at an angle for the loaves/rolls to slide down under their weight. The chutes are refilled from the back. The loaves/rolls are shielded by glass. Any non-packaged bakery products are shielded from contact with the customer. The glass housing indicates the type, weight, price and other details. A glass flap is lifted up to take out the bread. A second Plexiglass flap fixed to the housing flaps down behind the first load/roll to protect the second one from contact.
