Hour-hand with AM-PM display for wall, table or alarm clock - has vanes with AM or PM symbols mounted on tube which rotates through 180 deg every 12 hours
The a.m/p.m indicator consists of an assembly mounted on the hour-hand (4) with arrow head (15). Two pairs of vanes (6,7;8,9) are mounted on a tube (5) free to turn on the hour-hand (4). A spring (14) applies friction to movement of the tube and holds it in position. As the hour-hand rotates past 1200, the fixed pin (11) on the clock face strikes the first vane (6) and turns the tube by 90 deg. With further movement a pin (12) strikes another vane (8) to cause a further 90 deg rotation. Thus every 12 hours the vanes (8,9) with a.m/p.m symbol are turned through 180 deg. USE - Large display clocks.
