A load bearer part (8) height-adjustable within specific limits has a lift and braking device engaging with it which incorporates a power accumulator to which are coupled damping means and is supported directly or indirectly against the frame (1,2) of the stacker truck. The load bearer part (8) is adjustable in selectable height positions. The lift and braking device engaging on the height-adjustable load bearer part is formed by a gas spring supported by a piston (16) or connecting rod (17) against a part(18) of the frame of the stacker truck. USE - A two-wheeled stacker truck, esp. for conveyance of small loads.
