Each candle (1) has a connection cable (2) with a plug at one end (3). A separate current cable (5) is used for supplying the current to the candles (1). The current cable (5) has socket points (4) all along its length corresponding to the plugs (3) of the candles (1). One end of the current cable (5) plugs into a mains supply. The current cable (5) is attached to the tree trunk (7) and runs from top to bottom where it can be connected to the mains via a transformer (8). After the individual candles (1) are placed on the tree, their respective connection cables (2) are laid along the tree branches (6) and are plugged into the nearest socket (4) in the current cable (5). ADVANTAGE - The candles can be arranged on tree in any design or number and current lead does not run all around tree spoiling its appearance and causing a safety hazard.
