The coin testing device has a main plate supporting a pivoted coin chute carrier (10) with a sheet metal impact element (12) for deflecting the received coin towards the coin chute. The impact element (12) has a coin path section (14) and a relatively angled retaining section (16), supported by the coin chute carrier (10) in all directions via a number of retaining surfaces (36,38,40). The coin chute carrier (10) has a flexible tongue (42) cooperating with a retaining edge (34) of the retaining section (16) for supporting it in one direction, e.g. in the direction opposing the force of the incident coin.
