A joint shaft is for joining two shafts by means of an intermediary shaft, whose two ends are connected to one end of each shaft via a toggle joint coupling. The toggle joint couplings are identical on both sides of the intermediate shaft, i.e. the number and size of toggle joints are the same. The joints adjoining the intermediate shaft are connected by means of joining bolts and cylindrical, elastic bearings. The other joints of the toggle joints are connected to flange hubs adjoining the shafts. This connection is effected by means of joining bolts and spherical, elastic bearings. Each cylindrical bearing is associated with an axial pressure bearing in order to support the toggle joint against centrifugal forces affecting the joint. ADVANTAGE - The joint shaft is simpler than prior art units.
