Water-soluble membrane coating for domestic dispensers etc. - obtd. by bonding film of polyamide, polyethylene@ and polyethylene-ethylene ethacrylate with polyethylene-ethylene ethacrylate membrane film coupling agent and water-soluble resin

Prodn. of water-soluble membrane coatings (I) comprises bonding a deep-drawn film (II) with a membrane film (III) to form a chamber, e.g. a 1/3 lemon-shaped chamber. (II) consists of 30-70 microns polyamide, 250-350 microns polypropylene and 30-60 microns polyethylene with 4-20% ethylene-ethacrylate (PE-EEA) and (III) consists of 80-150 microns PE-EEA, 10-35 microns polyethylene coupling agent and 10-45 microns water-soluble resin. The dimensions of the membrane surface are within +/- 20%. The contents consist of a water-insol. mixt. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in devices which enable active substances to be released into the surroundings, e.g. room-freshening and -perfuming devices, rinse deodorisers for dishwashers etc. This system is cheaper to produce and gives rise to less domestic waste than prior-art systems (as described, e.g. in DE 3490012).
