The clip is for a ballpoint- or fountain pen or pencil. It comprises a resilient bracket (2) secured to the pen (10) etc. and extending parallel to and clear of it. A small box (3) is slid over the bracket, and contains a spring (4) acting between its bottom (13) and the bracket, so as to thrust the bottom away from the bracket and towards the pen. The spring can be of the arched leaf-type, while the box can be open towards the bracket, with portions of its walls fitting over the latter, and typically with lugs enclosing the bracket end. There can be a slot in the box bottom, allowing the lugs to be spread apart on assembly. USE/ADVANTAGE - Pen- or pencil-clip always remains parallel to edge of breast pocket etc.
